These projects delve into relevant and timely issues increasingly reflected in the handmade forum - from the old world to the new, and from the traditional to the contemporary, examining intersections among local and global, identity, heritage and sustainability.
28/4 - 27/5 2018, The exhibition shows works from three generations Cyrén: glass artist Gunnar Cyrén, designer Mårten Cyrén and contemporary artist Carl Cyrén who works with glass in a new and innovative way. Opening reception at 15.00.
16/6 2018 - 10/3 2019, "Material World", the exhibition shows the evolution of glass during the expansive 1980s, a decade when glass changed and became a status symbol, the glass industry focused on exports, the studio glass had it´s breakthrough, the term Glasriket was launched and commercialized and the glass design became increasingly international with geometric shapes and strong colors in red, blue and green.
In the neon park located in Boda Glasbruk the results of the integration project “Hej!” in Emmaboda Municipality is shown. Different groups of people have contributed to the project: newly arrived refugees, residents of Boda Glasbruk, and active practitioners within the field of glass who have previously worked in Boda.
